The Portfolio — Featured stories

Stories
we've held.

Every wedding we take on is shot as its own feature — not a thumbnail in a grid. Below: three stories from the last year, laid out the way we deliver them.

Scroll slowly.

Feature No. 01  ·  Autumn 2025

We didn’t want pictures that looked like ours.
We wanted pictures that felt like us.

Rowan didn’t direct the day. She noticed it.
Every frame is a moment we would’ve missed.

We flew our photographer thirteen hundred miles. We’d do it again for the same fifteen minutes of light.

About — A letter from the photographer

I didn’t set out to be a wedding photographer.
I set out to be an honest one.

I grew up in small-town Missouri, around weddings held in church basements and backyards. My grandmother kept every photograph in a cedar box. When I opened it, the pictures smelled like smoke and roses — and I could tell you who loved whom, forty years later, from a single frame.

That’s what I’m after now. Not the perfect shot — the true one. The breath before the vows. The way your dad looks at you at the end of the aisle. The hand you reach for without thinking.

I shoot film first, digital second. I work with one second-shooter I trust. I deliver in two weeks, not six months. And I only take twelve weddings a year, so I can hold each one all the way through.

01
The day is yours. I’m a witness, not a director.
02
Film carries what digital can’t. I shoot both.
03
Twelve weddings a year. Held, not churned.
